Urban Green Council is a non-profit organization working to advance sustainability in the urban built environment through education, policy, and research. Urban Green is at the front-edge of building sustainability and energy efficiency research in New York City. We’re dedicated to transforming NYC buildings for a sustainable future. All internship positions will provide broad exposure to leading thinking in urban sustainability and the opportunity to positively impact the future of New York City.
Social Media and Marketing Internship
The Social Media and Marketing Intern will assist with communications and design projects as part of Urban Green’s external relations. You will curate content for social media and the Urban Green website, assist with graphic design projects and web analytics, and work on special projects as needed.
Database and Web Projects Internship
The database and web projects intern will support key projects related to Urban Green Council’s CRM database and websites. You will execute data cleanup and system improvement projects within Salesforce CRM and related integrated applications, support application development projects, build out Salesforce reports, and assist in creating training materials for end-users.
Education Program Internship
The Education Program Intern will assist with administration, outreach, and delivery for two flagship education programs, Green Professional Building Skills Training (GPRO) and Conquering the Energy Code. GPRO is a national certificate program that teaches tradespeople about high performance building. For more information, please visit gpro.org. Conquering the Energy Code, offered throughout New York State, teaches architects and engineers about the 2016 New York State energy code and how to incorporate best design practices into their work.
As Policy Intern, you will support our policy development and advocacy, including the ongoing work of the 80×50 Buildings Partnership and our new initiative to advance building electrification in NYC’s multifamily buildings. Your tasks will include research and writing, data analysis, and supporting meetings and presentations. The successful candidate will be able to balance multiple projects and work independently with enthusiasm, creativity, and attention to detail.
Public Programs Internship
Working directly with the Public Programs Department, the Programs Intern will assist with administration and outreach for Urban Green’s educational events. You will support all stages of the event planning process. This position offers the unique opportunity to learn from leaders across the green building industry while executing interesting and timely educational programs.
The Research Intern will support the Research Department’s ongoing projects with tasks related to report production, data analysis and visualization and administrative and communications support. Candidates should be able to take on multiple projects and work independently with flexibility, enthusiasm, and creativity.
Interns are expected to work approximately 20 hours a week and are paid a bi-weekly stipend. All Urban Green interns are also extended complimentary invitations to Urban Green educational programs and events.
