TransitChek®

If you're a small business in the New York metro area, the TransitChek® Program allows you to easily manage the administration of the benefit products, e.g. MetroCards, Vouchers, etc.  You can order TransitChek commuter benefit products by phone or fax and they are delivered to your office, where you can distribute them directly to your employees.  There are four steps to begin administering the TransitChek Progam. 

Getting Started With TransitChek®: Four Easy Steps 

Offering TransitChek is easy and cost-effective for small businesses in the New York metro area. TransitChek allows you to offer commuter benefits without receipts to collect, mandatory enrollment dates, or “use it or lose it” rules. To make TransitChek part of your company's benefit package, simply: 

1. Have your employees select how much of their pretax salary they want to put toward the purchase of their TransitChek products — up to a maximum of $110 a month or $1,320 a year. You can distribute an Employee Enrollment Form (download below) and Transit Operators List to help employees make their selections and to find out what their needs are. 

2. Deduct the designated amount from each employee's salary before payroll taxes are applied.   Your payroll company will know how to do this.

3. Using the NPCC TransitChek Order Form, order TransitChek products, which include the TransitChek MetroCard, TransitChek CardTM and/or TransitChek Voucher. Order as many or as few as you need.  There are no minimums. 

4. Once you receive your TransitChek products, distribute them directly to your participating employees (with payroll checks) who can begin using them on transit and eligible vanpool services in the New York metro area. 

If you're offering TransitChek in addition to the employees' regular compensation—as a  fringe benefit, reward or incentive—no payroll deduction is necessary.   

TransitChek® Products For Your Employees 

The TransitChek MetroCard, TransitChek Card and TransitChek Voucher are available in  multiple, easy-to-use denominations.

TransitChek MetroCard

•  7-day and 30-day unlimited ride TransitChek MetroCards work on all MTA NYC Transit subway, MTA Long Island buses, MTA Staten Island rail and MetroCard  equipped local buses. The more employees use their cards, the more they save.  

•  Bonus value TransitChek MetroCards give employees an additional 20% value and are available in denominations of $20 (2 free rides), $30 (3 free rides), $35 (3 free  rides plus $1), and $40 (4 free rides)  

TransitChek Card

•  TransitChek Card**, is a prepaid Visa Card, that can be used to purchase tickets and passes with tax-free dollars for any transit service that accepts Visa debit card  payments.  

•  Cards are available in $24, $35, $45, $50, $60, $76 and $105 values.  

TransitChek Vouchers

•  Use TransitChek Vouchers like cash to pay for commuter rail passes, bus, ferry and eligible vanpool costs.   Vouchers are available in $50, $35, $30 and $15 denominations. 

Placing An Order: 

1.  Download the Employee Enrollment Form and copy as needed. 

2.  Download the NPCC TransitChek Order Form to order your employees' TransitChek  products. Send the completed NPCC TransitChek Order Form with a company check. Your order will be sent within 7 days of receipt of payment. TransitChek Cards will arrive in a separate shipment, but within the same time frame. 

If your organization is already enrolled in the TransitChek Program make sure to include your customer number to be certain that you receive the NPCC discount.
