Premium TransitChek®
New Premium TransitChek is a cinch to start and a snap to manage. A dedicated Account and Customer Service team assists you at every step of the way so no additional staff is needed. And with unparalleled customer service support, this program is unlike any other. Here's how it works:
• Your Account and Customer Service Team will assist you with program set-up and customization for your company's specific requirements.
• We'll help generate program awareness and promote employee enrollment by providing you with marketing support materials tailored for your company. Employees can enroll through the web or our toll-free telephone service. They receive their benefits directly from TransitCenter.
• At the end of the enrollment period, you'll receive a highly secure electronic file detailing the enrolled employees for verification and implementation of payroll deductions. You then deduct the designated pretax and post-tax amounts from their salaries and make a single monthly payment to TransitCenter covering all participating employees.
• We will fund your employees' TransitChek QuickPayTM Cards, issue Vouchers by mail to your employees' homes, or process parking claims through TransitChek CashBackTM, our cash reimbursement service. For employees in the New York metro area, we can credit their Ticket-By-Mail accounts, or for those who elect to receive the annual Premium TransitChek MetroCard, the $76 monthly cost for the Card will be covered by the employee's pretax deduction so the card will remain active for one year.
New Premium TransitChek can be tailored to fit your employees’ needs in several distinct ways:
Employees choose exactly how much of their pretax salary will go towards the purchase of Premium TransitChek—up to $110 a month for mass transit and/or $205 a month for commuter parking. Employees may also use their post-tax salary to purchase Premium TransitChek which makes paying for commuting expenses even easier, since they can pay for their entire commute at once.
Depending on how they commute, and regardless of where they work, there are many ways they can use Premium TransitChek:
• Introducing the TransitChek QuickPayTM Card for Mass Transit and Commuter Parking It's a VISA debit card issued by Bank of America, which enables your employees to use their pretax and post-tax deductions to pay for mass transit and commuter parking. The Card works like a credit or debit card but without any annual fees or transaction fees. Cards are issued for a three-year period and are mailed directly to your employees' homes.
• The Premium TransitChek MetroCard
Employees in the Metro New York Area can use their monthly deductions to purchase the annual Premium TransitChek MetroCard — the only Card that gives employees unlimited rides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year long, including holidays. The Card can be used on MTA NYC Transit subway and local buses as well as other MetroCard-equipped buses for local service. It’s available exclusively through TransitCenter and offers the most value and convenience.
• Vouchers for Mass Transit
Employees who use transit operators that do not accept credit or debit cards for payment can opt for vouchers, which will be mailed directly to their homes each month by TransitCenter. Vouchers come in a variety of denominations and can be used like cash to pay for tickets or passes on all participating transit services and to pay for all eligible vanpool costs.
• TransitChek CashBackTM for Commuter Parking
For parking locations that do not accept the TransitChek QuickPay Card, TransitChek CashBack is available to reimburse your employees for their monthly parking expenses. Your employees just submit a TransitChek CashBack Reimbursement Form to us along with their parking receipts. TransitCenter then either mails a reimbursement check directly to them or deposits the reimbursement directly into their bank account.
• Credit on Ticket-By-Mail Accounts
Available to employees in the Metro New York Area using MTA Long Island Rail Road, MTA Metro-North Railroad, PATH, NJ TRANSIT, Hoboken Ferry and Newark City Subway whose employer only allows pretax deductions. If your employees take one of the services listed above and have a monthly ticket-bymail account, they can choose to deduct up to $110 a month (or a lesser amount if appropriate) from their salaries before taxes and have the amount credited to their accounts. Any remaining balance exceeding $110 will be billed to them by the transit operators. If your employees do not have ticket-by-mail accounts, TransitCenter will help set one up for them.
