The TransitChek Commuter Benefit Program can save both your organization and your employees money. The IRS allows commuters to use up to a maximum of $115 (effective January 1, 2008) of their monthly pre-tax salary to pay for commuting costs. By allowing employees to set aside a portion of their pre-tax salary to pay for commuting costs, your organization can save money by reducing the overall payroll taxes it owes.
The TransitChek programs make it easy for employers to help employees take advantage of these tax savings while remaining fully compliant with IRS regulations. Plus, NPCC's new partnership with TransitCenter extends a 15% discount off of the TransitCenter processing fee.
TransitChek is accepted by most providers of mass transit in the New York metro area, including LIRR, MetroNorth, NJ Transit, PATH, MTA subways and buses, suburban buses, van pools and ferry services and can be applied to parking expenses. Best of all, thanks to our new program, NPCC members will receive a 15% discount on the administrative costs of offering this benefit to their employees.
Because of reduced payroll taxes and the NPCC discount on TransitChek’s administrative fee, this program provides value to your employees without a huge sacrifice on your organization’s part. The NPCC discount on TransitChek’s administrative fee also applies to existing TransitChek participants.
