PATHWAYS TO EXCELLENCE

In response to overwhelming demand by participants in the New York Times Company Nonprofit Excellence Awards program, Pathways to Excellence, a conference held on November 6, 2008 at NYU, informed nonprofit leaders about what it takes to achieve excellent management. The conference included speeches by Naomi Levine, Chair and Executive Director of the NYU George Heyman, Jr. Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising, and Dr. Reynold Levy, President of Lincoln Center and author of Yours for the Asking. Following the speeches participants attended one of four interactive workshops which included profiles of excellent management, practical exercises and take-home materials designed to help participating nonprofit leaders strengthen their organizations.
